The USSA understands that parents play a vital role in their son and/or daughters athletic experience. A motivated, supportive and involved parent helps insure a positive sport experience both on and off the snow. With the help of a parent, an athlete will understand that being a member of the U.S. Ski Team or U.S. Snowboarding is not an end in itself, but a means of achieving both professional and personal goals. It is part of a journey not a final destination. It is important for athletes as well as parents to understand that it is necessary to keep sports in perspective, and by doing so will realize that the financial support, endless hours of practice, and the frequent flyer miles have defined the investment and sacrifice that every member of the family has committed to in the quest for Olympic gold.
As the new website is developed, information concerning the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, credential and lodging information for this season's events, and other related news that specifically relates to our national team's parents will be made available.
