National Team Parents

The USSA understands that parents play a vital role in their son and/or daughters athletic experience. A motivated, supportive and involved parent helps insure a positive sport experience both on and off the snow. With the help of a parent, an athlete will understand that being a member of the U.S. Ski Team or U.S. Snowboarding is not an end in itself, but a means of achieving both professional and personal goals. It is part of a journey not a final destination. It is important for athletes as well as parents to understand that it is necessary to keep sports in perspective, and by doing so will realize that the financial support, endless hours of practice, and the frequent flyer miles have defined the investment and sacrifice that every member of the family has committed to in the quest for Olympic gold.

As the new website is developed, information concerning the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, credential and lodging information for this season's events, and other related news that specifically relates to our national team's parents will be made available. Please submit any suggestions, questions, and/or comments to Todd Wyant at the address or email listed below.

Domestic Events

The USSA has provided an events site that will inform you of family credential and lodging options for domestic events for the 2007/2008 season. Please click here for the latest detailed information regarding updated schedules, resort information, results and much more.

As in previous years, the USSA works with resort partners to provide complimentary family credentials for direct family members of U.S. Team Athletes. Individual venues may grant different access associated with their credentials. Parents will receive a letter outlining the benefits each resort partner provides and a tentative schedule for each event. The staff, coaches and athletes of the USSA look forward to sharing with the parents of our national team athletes the exciting moments to come this race season.

2008 Team Manual

The 2008 Team Manual is a valuable educational resource for national team athletes and their parents. It provides an overview of the USSA as a world-class sports organization, outlines important athletic program information, details benefits for national team athletes and lists the expectations the USSA has established for its team members, coaches, and staff.
